2023 Clarendon Syrah Bekkers – 3 bottle wooden case

It is with much excitement that we offer the first single-vineyard bottling from our newly resurrected Clarendon Vineyard Estate.

First planted in the 1840’s the historically important property had been abandoned and unpruned for nearly ten years when we purchased it in July 2020. It’s fair to say that we’ve poured our heart and soul into its rejuvenation.

The extremely steep hillside dominates the township of Clarendon, situated in the coolest, most elevated corner of McLaren Vale. A tortuous undertaking in terms of unconventional, hands-on viticulture is offset by its unique contour planting and rare soils (clay and schist).

We’ve long worked with Clarendon fruit, and it fits our polished style of wine so well. After taking such a leap of faith, it’s a great reward to see what this celebrated old hill has provided, given some love and attention.

Sold exclusively as a three-bottle wooden case to encourage evaluation of the wine throughout its evolution.
