As you know the Bekkers story is one of focus. Each year we encounter individual barrels in the cellar which announce themselves as special. Each year we resist the temptation to divide our attention between too many wines…. until now.

The 2021 Bekkers Clarendon Syrah "Single Vineyard Selection" is the product of a single vineyard parcel and just two very special barrels.

Over the years we have seen glimpses of what is possible from Clarendon Syrah. Sometimes all the elements align perfectly in the vineyard and cellars. Each year we hope our accumulated experience improves the frequency of these opportunities. In 2021 we couldn’t ignore the ethereal aromatics and pure intensity of these two barrels which stood apart from the outset and demanded to be bottled separately.
