This single-vineyard wine from Clarendon offers a quite beautiful interpretation of McLaren Vale syrah. The aromas show more red and blue fruit characters with lifted, spicy nuances. It has been deliberately handled to create a wine of elegance and poise, relying less on the opulence of McLaren Vale and more on the inherent, deeply textured fruit characters evident on both nose and palate. It all produces the strikingly seductive svelte palate. It's a wine of impeccable breeding that gathers and builds on the palate through to a sustained, long finish. Quite a beautiful wine.
