Bekkers forging ahead with high quality, exacting expressions of McLaren Vale staples. A blend of sites and districts here, plus some old vine material that makes for the backbone.
The wine opens with dark cherry, wild raspberry, high toned herbal nuance, a dash of curious but compelling smoked paprika and turned earth. The palate more assured in its sense of purity, succulence, cool red fruits, choc-nut, some rose water, a touch of that smoked paprika in there too. It stretches luxuriously through the palate, a touch of botanical, pleasing bitterness through the finish. It feels easy and lovely to drink. Well judged in this release.
