The Wine Front: 2024 Syrah Grenache, 92 pts
The Wine Front   |   Mike Bennie
Syrah to three quarters, grenache to the last quarter.
Quite a sense of purity despite the richness and generosity here too. A lot of booze-soaked berry and cherry character, not hot, but opulent and sloshy in its carriage of flavour. A warmth and simplicity, in a way, is the result. Soft tannins, good palate staining, sweet and twiggy finish. Lots of perfume to get stuck into. A little briny minerality at its core, or salted liquorice, either or. There’s a pleasantness and ease of drinking to this wine.
