The Real Review: 2024 Grenache, 96 pts
The Real Review   |   Huon Hooke
Deep-ish red-purple colour; smoked meats and charred wood, hot bitumen and lurking black pepper aromas. Full in the mouth with a certain animal undertone. Full bodied and voluminous on palate with lashings of drying, grippy tannins and a long carry. A full-bore and slightly rustic grenache: a big wine with loads of everything, which promises to soften and mellow if given a little more time. It has the structure to be long lived. With airing, liqueur cherry/kirsch perfumes come to the fore. Decanting is recommended.
