The Wine Front: 2023 Grenache, 94 pts
The Wine Front | Mike Bennie
This is a ripper grenache. It’s lithe and fresh fruited, gently spice, floral, velvety in the tannin department and generally does a great job of leaning into grenache’s potential for pinosity. Medium weight, though it does feel somewhat lighter, a little palate staining raspberry and wild cherry sweetness, the spice elements trailing away long and to a just-so juicy slip. Some white pepper and alpine herb and we have an accord for detail here. It’s quality, charming, beautiful. A wine that I hope adorns great wine lists everywhere to speak of grenache’s great rise and rise from McLaren Vale.
