Deep purple-black in color, the 2011 McLaren Vale Syrah is 100% Syrah (Shiraz) and available only ex-cellar. It shows notes of creme de cassis, black cherry preserves and chocolate with underlying nuances of roses, cedar, cinnamon stick and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, it packs a lot of expressive fruit along with nicely balanced refreshing acid and a medium to firm level of velvety tannins. It finishes long and will drink from 2014 to 2024+.
