"...the 2012 Bekkers Grenache ($80), a stunning follow-up to the 2011 Syrah Toby and Emmanuelle Bekkers released last year. Even though it's from McLaren Vale, this wine reminds me of the best reds of Rockford in the Barossa: fantastically well-defined structure, black fruit, firm but supple, sooty tannins.
A day open, it had barely shifted: I reckon this would be a very good bet in the cellar for a decade or more of slow maturation. It's also going to do the Bekkers reputation a great deal of good.".
