A more savoury and complex nose than many other Shiraz wines from the Vale, this has a gently reductive, meaty and savoury edge, ahead of quite assertive plum and blue fruits, speaks in layers, gently spicy too. The palate’s supple, fleshy, smooth and really succulent, tannins form up along the middle palate red and purple plum fruit flavours with blackberry at the sides. This is well above the average price in the region and it certainly has another grade of complexity. Sophisticated wine this. Best from 2017.
