Deep, dense, red/purple colour. The aroma is quiet and subdued, but clean and fresh and has dark plum and toasty oak nuances. Strongly infused oak, but not unbalanced. It seems cleverly built-up with oak and has the concentration and fruit intensity to go with it. Smoky, sooty, earthy regional fruit flavours. A big, dense, high-extract shiraz with a lot of presence. It should richly reward a little cellaring. A statuesque wine.
